Your 2022 Marketing Goals

As we approach the new year, it’s a great idea to open your mind to new beginnings, new goals, and new things to try. This is especially true when it comes to marketing your business.

Year-end is a perfect time of year to reflect on which marketing methods or channels returned the highest investment and the highest quality of new clients. On the flip side, it’s a good time to identify the losers as well.  Pruning the losers out of your 2022 budget and investing more in the winning channels and campaigns will make for a great start to the new year.

Here are some steps to consider for your 2022 marketing:

  1. Finalize your marketing metrics for 2021.

Do you best to determine your return on investment for each campaign or marketing channel you used in 2021.  What paid off?  What didn’t?  From there you can make smart decisions for your 2022 plans instead of simply winging it.

  1. Decide on your growth goals for 2022.

Where do you want your business to be on December 31, 2022?  Revenue levels?  Number of clients?  Quality of clients? What type of work do you enjoy doing best?  Is there a new service line you want to roll out (or get rid of)? Are you ready to start winding down, or do you want to ramp up to sell in a few years?

Perhaps you want to build new marketing and sales skills through training.  Or maybe you’ve been itching to roll out a new marketing app or add a new social platform to your mix.

List it all out, and make your goals SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.

  1. Update or refresh your current marketing materials.

Have you hired new staff during 2021? Earned a new certificate?  Received more testimonials?  If so, your website, social accounts, ads, newsletters, lead magnets, and other marketing materials may need a quick update, or even a complete makeover.  Let us know how we can help with this.

  1. Create a marketing plan for 2022.

This can be as complex or as simple as you’d like. How will you achieve the goals you set for yourself in 2022?  List what steps you need to take in marketing to achieve your 2022 dreams.

  1. Try some new things.

Do you want to experiment with new marketing channels in 2022? There are so many hot ones:  geo-fencing, text marketing, bots, and more. If any of these pique your interest, then add them to your plan.

  1. Implement!

Get started!  You may even want to get started before New Year’s Day. Make sure that for 2022, marketing is a priority so that you will have an excellent chance of achieving your goals. It’s easy to get busy and procrastinate, especially if you feel marketing is uncomfortable for you.  Just don’t do it!  Make sure your goals are always top of mind, and push through any discomfort so you can have your best year ever.
