How to Add Forms to Your Website Using Email Marketing Software

Hi, everyone. My name is Sandi Leyva. I’m with Accelerator Digital Media. And I want to show you how to create a sign-up form, email newsletters sign-up, of in Constant Contact that you can add to your website. If you have both a website package and a newsletter package with us, we will do this for free. So no need to waste your time on listening to this webinar unless you just want to understand the mechanics behind it. If, for some reason, you don’t have a website with us, or you just want to find out more about what we do, you want to find out more about the newsletters, then keep watching.

So I am in Constant Contact. This is the only one that we support. However, if you do have other email marketing systems and you’d like us to help you with the sign-up form, you can send us the code, or if you don’t know how to do that, then we can charge you on an hourly rate or through a package and we can help you get that set up.

In Constant Contact, what you’re going to do is go to those sign-up forms menu item. Here, it’s the fourth one along the top. So click sign-up forms once you’ve logged into Constant Contact. As you can see, we already have some started, but let me start from scratch. Over here on the right, you’re going to click create sign-up form. So let’s do that. And the selection that you want is inline. This is going to be the best for you. Click inline, and it gives you a sample of exactly what it’s going to look like. So if you want to go in and make some changes to like the title, get our newsletter, you really kind of have to market the marketing here, if you want. What are they going to get? So get our newsletter. Description. Great tax tips and solid business advice. I don’t know. That’s what they’ll get.

So again, you’re just going to go to each of these sections and make it your own. If you want to ask for more than email, you can add contact fields here. We won’t go too much more into this. You can modify the color of the button here, and it’s all very menu-driven. These items correspond to items on what you see and it’s WYSIWYG. So it should be very, very easy. One thing you do need to do, you don’t need to do any other changes other than select which email list you’re signing them up for.

So if you have more than one, and this is a very old version that we’re using, typically you’re going to have one called general interest, or you’ll know the title of the list that you’ve set up. So I’m going to select general interest here, and that will be the email list that people will be signed up for when they use this form on your website. So what we’re going to do now is we’re going to go ahead and publish that. And then we’re all done with that, except there are two things we need to do.

We need to get the inline code and we also need to get the universal code. And that’s the part we’re going to do free if you have Web Pro and up. And this is pretty typical for any email marketing. Typically, there’s going to be a place to create and design your form. And then there’s going to be a place to get the code behind it so it can be added to your website. So they call this inline code. And what we just need to do is click and it’ll be copied to the clipboard.

And then what you can do is you can submit a support request, and newsletter sign-up, and then paste that code. And then you can say, “Well, here’s the inline code.” And if this is the first form that you’ve done, you also need to send us the universal code. Here’s the universal code. So let’s go grab that. We’ll close that. And right here, this button right here, again, click and then put that in your email to us. And there you go. This tells us to add the newsletter sign-up. And we click send, and that is how to get us the code that we need. And that is how to create your Constant Contact newsletter form. And then we’re going to add that to the various parts of your website. If you have a specific page, please call that out in the email. Isn’t that simple? Crazy, easy, very WYZIWYG, very user-friendly. So that is how to do a constant contact sign-up form, newsletter sign-up. And we will get that on your website. So thanks, everybody, for listening. And we’ll see you in the next webinar. Bye for now.
