Increase Online Leads with Your QuickBooks ProAdvisor Profile

If you are a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and have at least one certification, you are eligible to be listed in Intuit’s Find-A-ProAdvisor directory. Many small businesses use this directory to find QuickBooks consultants and end up turning into good long-term clients.
Check to make sure there are no bugs with your profile:
  1. Make sure what you entered shows up.
  2. Make sure your profile is displayed in the Find-A-ProAdvisor listing under your zip code.
  3. Google your name and “QuickBooks help” to see if your profile shows up in search results.

The Profile database has been known to have lots of bugs. We’ve had to call on several accounts, so don’t hesitate to contact Intuit support to get your profile displaying correctly. Bugs have been known to show up at the individual record level, so don’t assume it affects anyone else and don’t assume it will just fix itself. Be proactive and call them if you need to.

Here are a couple of tips to help you get the most out of your ProAdvisor profile listing:

  1. Do NOT list your ProAdvisor link on your website. You are just leading prospects to your competition.
  2. Do include your website URL on the ProAdvisor listing. Link it directly to your QuickBooks services page, not your home page. You could also build a special landing page just for your ProAdvisor leads. If the webpage name (not the domain name) has “QuickBooks” in it, all the better for search results purposes. Please note that domain names with the word QuickBooks in them are against Intuit copyright.
  3. Completely fill out the profile. Check all the applicable boxes about software and industries.
  4. Carefully complete the text portion of the profile. Make it super-friendly but also fairly short. If you want to avoid price-shoppers, include your prices right in the text, or include a sentence that says, “Our troubleshooting / training packages start at $__.”a. If you’ve been named one of the Top 100 ProAdvisors, include this in your text. b. If you’re a member of the National Intuit Trainer/Writer Network, Include that in your text. c. Include keywords like accounting, bookkeeping, your cities, troubleshooting, setup, QuickBooks, and other keywords so your site will rank higher. d. Talk about the best things about you.
  5. Take advantage of the titles and enter things like Troubleshooter and Problem-Solver if you have room.
  6. Always, always add a picture.
  7. Get clients to post a review.

The goal is to get your profile to be one of the top three that displays when you enter your city and “QuickBooks help.”

Try these tips to keep your ProAdvisor profile bug-free and ranking well so you can attract more business.
